DERELICT INTERIORS

Derelict Interiors is an interiors shop and studio that features vintage furniture restored and refinished by us. We also spruce up, make and source, unique and interesting products for the home often with a Scandinavian or industrial feel to them.

If you are looking for an industrial chic style, reclaimed pieces or the distressed and worn finish to your furniture then we are the people for you!

OUR SHOP

We are very excited to be opening our first shop and paint studio in the town of Sittingbourne. We are located in the amazing building that is our sister company The Derelict Art Gallery, not to far from the town centre, we officially open in October 2016.

We are a small, independent business but we hope to give you the full Derelict experience, with a carefully curated range of vintage pieces, hand painted furniture, antiques and curiosities. The shop will also introduce a selection of home accessories and ceramics all with simple, beautiful and functional design.

We strive to source beautiful and unusual things that you don’t find in many other places, quirky and unusual items that we love just for their look or style, we try to sell pieces that make a real statement in your home but that are also useful and practical. We sell well designed products, chosen with care and made to last. Every piece we buy, we buy for it’s character, functionality & quality. If it’s not beautiful or useful we don’t buy it!

OUR FURNITURE

We upcycle, rescue and transform beautiful and solid wood pieces of furniture, designed to last for decades or even centuries, into authentic, desirable, but practical pieces that not only reduce environmental impact, but also fit in with todays modern living.

We buy our furniture & vintage items mainly in the UK, from flea markets, auctions and contacts that we have built up over the years. Most of what is available in the shop is also online and only available while stocks last, so if you like it, buy it. We might not get it again.

We source, restore and refinish all the vintage and antique furniture that we sell, ourselves. When we buy each piece, it usually doesn’t look the way it does as you see it in the shop. Most things either need repainting, refinishing or light restoration.

We love rejuvenating these iconic and old tired pieces of furniture, revamping them into gorgeous objects of desire.

We believe that no piece of solid wood furniture should be given up on, which is why we happily and sympathetically restore them, giving them the helping hand they need to find a new home and continue to be appreciated by future generations.

DERELICT STUDIO

We hand paint and finish our furniture, sourced from trusted suppliers with pride, using the finest quality paints, creating furniture we hope you’ll fall in love with.

OUR PAINTS

We are the exclusive certified retailer and trainer for Miss Mustard Seed’s Milk Paint and Fusion Mineral Paint in the Swale and surrounding area.

Using these organic, non-toxic, highly durable and free of all VOC’s paints, we embrace vintage style with modern flair.

OUR WORKSHOPS

Because we know that many followers of this style love to roll of up their sleeves and get their hands dirty, we will also be running regular workshops designed to guide you through the process of painting and finishing furniture from start to finish.

We have created a hands-on workshop classroom for you to learn and create your own masterpieces using Miss Mustard Seed’s Milk Paint and Fusion mineral paint products.

COMMISSION WORK

As well as creating original pieces for our shop we also take commissions and paint customer’s own pieces.
