Gerard first completed his Sport and Exercise Science degree at the University of Limerick in 2014. The course was quite broad and Gerard looked to specialise his skills towards his own particular interests. He went on to complete a Master’s in Sports Therapy at London Metropolitan University where he had a particular focus on hamstring performance.
Gerard has an abundance of clinical experience working in physiotherapy clinics in London and has become increasingly familiar with popular injuries such as neck pain, lower back pain, knee pain and shoulder pain. Gerard likes to incorporate a variety of techniques into his sessions including manual therapies, spinal therapies, exercise rehabilitation, sports massage, deep postural massage as well as medical acupuncture. He also incorporates kinesiology taping where necessary to assist in movement encouraging blood flow and essentially a speedy recovery.
As an extremely competitive athlete himself, Gerard likes to work with sportspeople of all levels and is currently a part of the Queens Park Rangers Academy medical team. He also continues his relationship with the North London Shamrocks GAA team. His own particular sport is Gaelic football where he plays for London GAA competing in the All Ireland Championship.
