OSCARE After School Care

General information

Oscare provides a Breakfast club and After School club for children between the ages of 4.5 and 12 years (P1-P7) attending Carolside and Busby Primary Schools. We also operate a holiday club during school holidays and in service days, which any children living in the East Renfrewshire area who are of primary school age are welcome to attend.

Our aim at Oscare is to provide high quality childcare in a safe and secure environment where all children feel welcome and included. Each child’s individuality will be celebrated, respected and nurtured.

• To provide high quality accessible play opportunities for children where our practice is underpinned by ‘The Playwork Principles’.
• Ensure each child feels happy, safe and secure.
• Encourage children to take responsibility for themselves and their actions.
• Encourage children to develop positive attitudes and respect for themselves and others, in an environment free from bullying and discrimination.
• Provide a wide range of resources and equipment which can be used under safe and supervised conditions.
• Offer a programme of activities which meets the needs and interests of each child.
• Work in partnership with parents and schools to provide high quality play and care.
• Review and evaluate our services to ensure that we continue to meet the needs of children in our care and those of their parents or carers. We will involve our service users in these reviews.
• Keep parents and carers informed about changes in the administration of the Club and to listen and respond to their views and concerns.
• Communicate effectively with parents and carers.
• Employ experienced, well trained staff and offer them appropriate support, training and performance management.
