WHO ARE WE?

Eggman Studios is a convenient/concentric music rehearsal facility, as well as a fully equipped professional recording studio located in the heart of Dunfermline; situated at the “Glen Gates” a short distance from Dunfermline bus station, a stones throw from Tesco’s, and literally a minute’s walk from the towns nightlife/entertainment centre (PJ Molloys/Lorenzos/Monty’s, etc).

We aim to provide a comfortable, professional and affordable environment for all music rehearsal & production. Our facilities are robust & extensive, with a team of engineers boasting a considerable amount of industry experience, and with an impressive portfolio of work (namely working with Ian Beveridge & Dave Grohl of Foo Fighters acclaim).

We are a collective of musicians/audio professionals based in/around central Scotland with experience in professional music performance/audio production spanning over 30 years in the industry.

We provide the knowledge, tools & expertise essential in order for your productions to evolve to a professional standard. Sonically impressive & radio ready recordings...at a price that wont break the bank.

Rehearsal Suite

Our cozy Rehearsal room is fully equipped with PA System/Microphones/Drum Kit *Bring Own Breakables*/Guitar & Bass amps and also a range of other diverse instruments including Electric Organ/Cajon/Harmonium Pump Organ/Percussion/Ukuleles, etc.

We also have Kitchen, toilet facilities and a homely chill out area.

Recording Services

Our professional Recording facilities can accommodate for a variety of diverse musical scenarios; from singletrack overdubs to a full-on live mini orchestra ensemble…we have the facilities to record up to 24 tracks of simultaneous high fidelity audio.

We have a comfortable control room & listening environment, as well as a wide arsenal of equipment at your disposal; including industry staple microphones (Akg, Shure, Rode, Blue Bottle, Neumann, etc), high quality Focusrite Saffire/Liquid preamps & converters, Avid Eleven Guitar Rig, Mellotron (Software & Keyboard), Protools 10 & a diverse range of plugins ***See Inventory For Full Details***

MEET THE TEAM:

Darren Forbes -

Darren is a professional/experienced guitarist, as well as a well trained audio engineer. He currently plays guitar with the rock band “Shambolics”, although he also has years of experience touring the country as a solo singer/songwriter. He has worked alongside artists such as; Nick Mercer from Sergeant, Tommy Hingley from Inspiral Carpets and The Sunshine Underground…and has even performed at Liam Gallaghers “Pretty Green” clothing store at Covent Garden in London! Darren is currently finishing up his diploma in audio engineering, but has already attained a plethora of experience through studio work with numerous bands & independently volunteering his expertise in many studio situations. Darren primarily handles all rehearsal bookings at Eggman, but also has experience teaching & tutoring guitar…so should you require lessons…give him a call!

Alex "Eck" Burrell -

Eck is a "veteran" professional musician, with 35 years of extensive industry experience. He has performed with numerous high profile groups, including Garrison, Brady Cole, Sauza Kings (Currently) to name a few, and sharing a stage with the likes of Foo Fighters, Eagles of Death Metal, Serj Tankian (System of a Down), Futureheads, Cosmic Roughriders, Stone Gods (aka "The Darkness"), Big Country, Gillan, Thunder, Dare, Ellis Beggs & Howard, The Cult. Eck has also shared the stage with Scott Gorum (Thin Lizzy), as well as Joey Tempest (Europe).

The aforementioned experiences helped introduce Eck into the world of professional audio production from a young age, and he has long provided his own studio production services; helping other young & budding local bands achieve affordable & professional sounding recordings (utilising/sharing the musical production expertise/wisdom he has gained) - even building his own bespoke & soundproofed multi-module recording studio in his garden "Carpitstudios". Eck is a qualified & expert audio engineer specialising in high impact, tonally pristine, professional sounding & radio ready mixes! (Although…don't feed him in the studio…as he can generate smells that would make a billy goat barf! :p)

Dominic Hardy -

An experienced, qualified & professionally trained audio engineer with almost a decade’s worth of experience primarily recording with bands, on location & in the studio. Dom is also a qualified, seasoned & versatile drummer, having performed with dozens of ensembles of countless differing musical styles (he is currently performing with The Sauza Kings, Miasma & Buried Sleeper…as well as other paid work with local function bands). He also has much experience music tutoring; working within schools & with Fife youth initiatives to encourage kids to embrace their musical talents.
