Academy4Kids Day Nursery is situated in a beautiful listed building, primarily as St James School, founded in 1809 as a school for boys. In the summer of 2003 Academy4Kids was established. We have been attending Academy4Kids for over 3 years and have always found it to be a kind, happy and stimulating environment for our 2 children. We are always very impressed with the activities on offer and feel that our children have developed in leaps and bounds as a result. We provide complimentary Stretch n Grow classes and French lessons as part of our extra curricular activities. The woodlands area in our premises provides an exciting space for children to explore nature. We, as early years practitioners, have a key role to play in working with parents to support their young children, promoting physical, mental and emotional health & well being. Play underpins the delivery of all the EYFS. Children must have opportunities to play indoors and outdoors. Children benefit from the fantastic range of outdoor activities in all weathers and are keen to explore the different outdoor play areas, in particular the woodlands, which provides them with a captivating and exciting area where they can explore nature, living things and use natural resources. Babies and young children benefit from having their own secure play area with an all over soft surface. We organise our meals and snack times to help the older children develop independence by encouraging the children to serve themselves food and drinks, using cutlery and feeding themselves.
