Allan Chester, a Canadian-born entrepreneur, recognised that expats were embracing technology to keep in touch; using tools such as email and Skype to communicate across international borders. They still relied however, on friends and family back in the UK to receive and forward their letters and parcels.

Post and postal addresses were physical barriers that were affecting individuals and businesses across the globe.

Allan set about developing an online platform that could be accessed from any internet connected device. anywhere in the world, to allow users to manage their post and parcels via a "virtual" UK address.

Allan’s mission was to create the ultimate online mail management solution - mail scanning, mail forwarding, parcel forwarding and fulfilment - all tied together with virtual UK addresses.

UK Postbox was born, and 9 years on the business has gone from strength to strength, offering businesses and individuals services on a global scale.

UK Postbox was launched to the market in October 2008, very quickly establishing itself as the UK’s premier online postal solution. Early adopters included expats who needed a UK address, business owners who wanted to protect their privacy at home, international students, and those who regularly travelled overseas for work.

Today, UK Postbox is the industry-leading online postal service; allowing people to access their correspondence while travelling around the globe. The service also enables businesses to trade in the UK and EU from far afield, opening up new markets and opportunities.
