Because we want to turn the tiger into the pussycat. Make cancer a manageable, curable, contained condition. Just like those disorders that were once deadly, now conquered. And thanks to research, we’re getting closer.

In the last 20 years new tests and new treatments, some of which we are proud to have driven, mean many more of us diagnosed with cancer today can expect to be here for years to come.

This is the difference research makes.

But cancer still kills, and while it does, we continue to strive, to fund the research we know will help us reach our ultimate goal – to one day see no life cut short by cancer.

We look to this new horizon, to this time when cancer is no longer feared, and we believe we know how to get there. Every year we fund over £4 million in potentially ground-breaking research all over the world. We support pioneering early-stage cancer research into any type of cancer, from very rare cancer-linked genetic diseases which affect just a few children every year, to more common cancers which impact the lives of millions of people worldwide. In fact we have funded 1,820 projects in 34 different countries.

We’ve seen the progress research can make, and that’s why we believe the next 25 years are crucial. We can already glimpse that new horizon- where cancer is just a word. All we need is your support to help us get there.
