General information
Basically, 2nd Dromara is a Christian Church, where people have been worshipping God since 1844. We are one of 545 congregations, right across the island of Ireland, which comprise the Presbyterian Church in Ireland. (If you're confused about this word "Presbyterian", it comes from a word meaning "elder", and describes how our church is run - by elders, including the "Minister", who are all chosen by us).
At the centre of our services and weekly activities is God's word the Bible - listening to its message and asking for God's help to "live it out". That's because we believe that God speaks to us today by His word, just as He has done throughout the centuries. The key to what the Bible teaches has to do with God's Son Jesus. We believe that God sent His Son Jesus into the world. Jesus came to show us what God is like. Jesus also came to forgive us for living our lives without God, when we turn to Him and trust in Him.
