Artspace creative arts centre is a nurse led community interest company which supports people with learning disabilities ,Physical and Sensory disabilities to develop their creative skills whilst upcycling or producing a quality handcrafted product.
The Multisensory Centre provides a wonderful range of sensory experiences, therapeutic and developmental opportunities with support to visitors.
It also provides a haven for those clients and their families and carers who are seeking short breaks and relaxation "

Artspace uses a needs led approach in assessment, planning and Implementing person centred training plans, we offer skills training and work opportunities for people with additional needs we provide an inspirational and nurturing environment that encompasses an up cycling furniture workshop,creative arts, saleroom and family friendly coffee shop, a simple, uncomplicated and environmentally friendly business that aims to be of real value to the community, helping reduce the stigma of disability

Training
Training services at artspace are facilitated onsite by trained and dedicated staff. Training is person centred and needs led therefore Training is designed around the needs of the individual.
We work with the NorthWest Regional College to offer the following :-
• NVQ qualifications in catering
• Vocational training in our Hand Crafts and Cards workshop
• CCea in Arts and Crafts
• Barista Coffee Training
• Essential Food Hygiene
• Personal Progression Towards Employment
• Customer Service
• Health and Safety
• Literacy
• Health and Beauty

Exclusion is not an option for us at artspace therefore we want to make sure that artspace functions as a whole community arts resource centre. We offer frequent Upcycling, Baby Multisensory and training events throughout the year.

Rosie’s Coffee Space @artspace
The coffee shop is open Monday to Friday,(Saturday with bookings) offers speciality coffees, paninis, bagels, sandwiches, cupcakes to sit in or to go.

The coffee shop offers further training opportunities for people with learning disability in food preparation skills in a supportive learning environment. It offers a natural opportunity for inclusive opportunities via customers visiting the centre.

The Multi-Sensory Studios@artspace
The Multi Sensory rooms act as a whole community resource for groups/individuals. The rooms are designed to ensure that all children and young adults are able to access a community facility which is age appropriate and is meaningful regardless of ability.
The rooms operate on a booking basis only.
We have 3 custom designed sensory rooms, access to the coffee shop plus accessible toilets & changing room facilities.
The soft play and Sensory studio have soft padded walls and floors with hoists to allow children/adults with mobility issues to access all areas.

The Hand Crafted Goods Store @artspace
“The store” is located just off the Art Studio so not only offering customers the opportunity to purchase hand crafted items created onsite but they can see the product as it is developed by the crafter...

Artspace creative arts centre Day Opportunities

“Artspace creative arts centre is a community interest company which supports people with learning disabilities to develop their creative skills whilst producing a quality handcrafted product. “
Artspace creative arts centre was established in 2012 to provide adults with learning difficulties / disabilities with the opportunity to access accredited training towards gaining employment.
Costings:
£10 per hour ( We offer a 6 hour supported day)

Direct Payment or Private Funding

Qualifications & Quality Standards:

Artspace promote the role of the Registered nurse for people with learning disability, therefore RNLD’s will be responsible for team leading, assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating all programmes of training.
All staff are CRB checked. Holds Public Liability, Employers Liability and Professional indemnity insurance.
