General information

Pennyburn Credit Union is a not for profit financial co-operative which is owned by its members and exists to provide a service for those members and membership is open to anyone who lives or works within the common bond area. Transactions can be carried out at our office at 19 Greenhaw Road or at our sub-office at Ballymagroarty.

Members who are of full age - 18 years - may apply for a loan for a provident or productive purpose and loan applications can be made online, by calling to either office in person or by phoning either office and decisions on loans that bring the total of your loan balance above the amount of your shares are usually available within 24 hours. Loans that leave your loan balance less than your shares are available immediately. The current legal maximum for loans is £15,000 above a member's shares and the Credit Union also provides Loan Protection Insurance at no extra cost for eligible members. Loan Protection Insurance ceases at age 85.

The Credit Union also provides Life Savings Insurance and Death Benefit Insurance for all eligible members.
