Ballymoney Community Resource Centre

General information

BCRC employs 11 staff members who work in the following fields throughout the North East of Northern Ireland:

1. Community Development and Capacity Building
2. Disability
3. Ethnic Minority Support and Integration
4. Good relations and peace-building
5. Support for Older People

Building Communities Resource Centre (BCRC) provides support to a network of community and voluntary organisations; offering advice, guidance and information on community development issues, projects and funding; focussed support to areas identified as having weak community infrastructure and training and capacity building round a number of topics.

We also employ a part-time basis Youth Disability Development Officer and an Assistant Disability Worker plus an Ethnic Minorities Worker. These projects respond to the drop in needs of individuals, co-ordinate events and information sessions, provide pertinent information and work in tandem with wider developments within each particular discipline

Project Aims and Objectives:

• To promote community development and networking
• Promotion and facilitation of relevant training and capacity building programmes to increase capacity and sustainability
• To provide relevant, accessible information to community and voluntary groups to aid the advancement of their community and work
• Provide a link to policy and decision making at local and regional level
• Identify new and emerging community needs and deliver Ethnic Minorities Support programme for the four councils in the Causeway Coast and Glens
• Continue to manage, develop and expand the Ballymoney Disability Programme into wider Causeway area
• To support community groups to get involved in Community Planning
• To support older people in the Causeway area
