Mary Ann Evans Hospice

General information

The Mary Ann Evans Hospice offers a warm and welcoming home from home environment and was established to enhance the quality of life to people who have a diagnosis of cancer and other life limiting illnesses. Care and support is offered to our patients and their families/carers of all cultures and faiths, what ever their needs:- physical, emotional, psychological, social or spiritual. The Day Hospice provides care for up to 15 patients a day Monday to Friday and the Hospice at Home Team offers dedicated care and support to patients who choose to be cared for in their own home. The dedicated team consists of a Staff Nurse and Senior Health Care Assistants who have experience working with palliative care patients. They provide regular respite visits, usually 3 - 4 hours in length, to enable carers to take a well earned break. The service is available 7 days per week 7am – I0pm and we also offer a limited night service from I0pm - 7am. Respite, personal care, support visits and phone calls are accessible on an individual basis within available resources. All care give is free of charge to those attending the Hospice.
