Welcome to the Sylvia Bird School of Dance!

The Sylvia Bird School of Dance was founded by the late Miss Sylvia Bird over 60 years ago. Sylvia trained thousands of children over the years, with many becoming professional dancers, singers or actors. Lots of Coventry kids have danced at Sylvia's, the building in Brays Lane housing many happy memories!
Two of Sylvia's most long standing associates, Linda Chamberlain and Joy Thomas worked very hard to keep the school open after Sylvia passed away suddenly in 2009. Losing Sylvia affected everyone very deeply, but it was the loyalty that she instilled in us that made us determined to keep the school open, and to keep her memory alive. The show must go on, one more time girls.... we do what we do, how we were taught to by a great lady. Team SB forever!
Our dancing school is still located at the original premises on Brays Lane, now owned by Dev Barrett. Our purpose built dance studio is on the first floor above Dev's dojo (http://www.facebook.com/pages/Dev-Barretts-Karate-and-Kickboxing-ECKA-Coventry/242803029075765). We have changing facilities, dance shop, large studio and a smaller studio. The school is open daily, with the exception of Tuesday and Sunday.
