Purewell

General information

Purewell’s range of original equipment was designed around 70 years ago so as the new/current owners began to move forward, it became clear, while talking to clients, that a degree of updating was required to some parts of the range. This approach of client-facing development has been the core of all business development over the last 30+ years and resulted in new products being developed based upon feedback and requests from clients.

At the forefront of this development programme has been the changing face and demand for a wider species variety. Historically, the largest sector for Purewell has been the UK trout industry, with farms and fisheries all over the UK, meaning that the design of products served one master. Over the last 10 years the fish farming and aquaculture industries have seen a veritable explosion in species demand, resulting in, for example, Scottish salmon farming coming ashore, research into species such as lumpfish and wrasse, and the international demand for fish such as Tilapia, meaning that products have had to be developed with those in mind. This has been a very exciting period of growth and expansion, resulting in greater knowledge and expertise in an ever-changing industry.
