Nearby Borehamwood is home of the famous Elstree Film Studios, where TV shows as diverse as The Tweenies, A League of Their Own, Strictly Come Dancing and The Saint have been filmed. Indeed, in 1968, The Battle Axes pub was featured in an episode of The Saint.
