This year is the 70th anniversary of Glenn Miller’s visit to Great Britain. It was 1944 when the Glenn Miller Orchestra arrived on our shores to bring morale-boosting melodies to the US troops based here on the eve of the allied invasion of Europe.

25 years ago, Ray McVay was selected by the New York office of Glenn Miller Productions to run a UK orchestra.

Since then Ray has been allowing audiences the chance to feel the excitement of the sound that got us through the war with smiles on our faces and laid the foundations of pop right up to the present day – including the song that became pop history’s first gold disc, Chattanooga Choo Choo!

The show features the fabulous harmonies of the Moonlight Serenaders, the sublime vocals of Catherine Sykes and Colin Anthony and the swinging jazz band, The Uptown Hall Gang.

Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin and Louis Armstrong are all featured in a show which highlights the stars and bands of the era.

They play original arrangements of classic wartime chart toppers including Moonlight Serenade, American Patrol, Little Brown Jug, Tuxedo Junction and the iconic In the Mood.
