VCS aims to enhance community well-being in the Borough through voluntary action. Principally we achieve this through the delivery of actions under the six core functions of a Volunteer Centre as defined by Volunteer England, namely: 1) Brokerage, 2) Marketing Volunteering, 3) Good Practice Development, 4) Development of Volunteering Opportunities 5) Policy Response & Campaigning and 6) Strategic Development of Volunteering. Central to our role is ensuring standards of good practice in the management of volunteers is maintained and volunteers are recognised for their valuable contribution to the local community
