The Cock & Bull Company Information
General information
Originally built in 1897, within the grounds of The Cock Hotel (which is now Café Nero), the building stood empty for four years & then opened its doors, as the London and County bank and later became the National Westminster Bank.
A local resident of the area, the well-known architect Fredrick Wheeler designed it. This Building is Sutton’s example Of an Art Nouveau building, taking note of the motifs used, the door and the carving around the windows.
It remained a bank until Fuller Smith & Turner, a London brewery with a great tradition, purchased it in 1995.
