Liesel Angel Trust

General information

Liesel and Angel Trust is a children's charity that provides practical support services to families whose children are faced with serious ailments that poses as life threatening. Founded in January 2011, Liesel Angel Trust is a not for profit organisation that solely depend on donations for its existence. Liesel Angel Trust Children's Charity is Organisation currently covering the UK and Africa.

Why Was It Founded

The charity was founded by Lovia Ofori-Agyemang whose baby daughter Liesel Angel was diagnosed of childhood cancer Neuroblastoma at 14 months of age.

Having had 16 months of treatments that included surgery, chemotherapy, radiotherapy, another surgery on the primary tumour site, high dose chemotherapy, immunotherapy(antibody treatment) IL2 treatment(interleukin 2) and Cis retinoic acid( a vitamin A concentrate medicine termed as oral chemotherapy). Miraculously, Liesel-Angel survived cancer unlike other families who sadly lost their child.

Lovia heavily depended on a charity for practical help from emotional support, baby sitting to driving her and her daugther to and from their many hospital appointments. Amidst of this, Lovia still found room in her highly stressed and emotionally drained self to think of how she could help families with sick children when she gets out of her situation.

My experience as a mother of sick child made me realise how needy I was. I desperately needed all round help from dropping and picking my 8 year old son from school to basic cooking, and of course a round the clock help at the hospital to relief me to get a some food and to even have a bath. I received a lot of help from a rather brilliant charity but unfortunately they were not able to meet all my needs at all times. This made me finally realise that there could be a lot of other families in similar positions as me who cannot get all the help they require and this is how Liesel
Angel Trust came about.

We are here to fill in the gaps to ensure that all needs of families with sick children are met.
