Lovvol

General information

Lovvol (‘Love Volunteering’) is a not-for-profit organisation with a dual-purpose mission, which is (1) to enable cultural exchange opportunities for university students in China and (2) to introduce Chinese children to the English language and western culture. Since 2006, we have placed hundreds of UK and US students on a variety of educational summer programmes across China, helping thousands of Chinese school children.
All programmes we offer are absolutely FREE of charge for successful student applicants (our “Ambassadors”), additionally; students receive appropriate training prior to departure, and some receive certification upon completion of the summer programme.
Lovvol encourages our Ambassadors to explore China in an engaging manner. We aim to foster cultural understanding and introduce Ambassadors to the Chinese language and way of life, inspiring the next generation of Chinese children to learn English and broaden their horizons. Since early 2015, Lovvol has teamed up with Future Foundations, an award-winning UK training company to establish an all-round education syllabus to complement Chinese children’s traditional classroom experience and to promote their emotional and intellectual developments. Blue Bridge Education, a Cambridge based international education specialist provider will at no cost provide TEFL and pre-departure training to successful applicants (“Lovvol Ambassadors”) to equip for their adventure. Through taking part in our programmes, university student ambassadors from across the globe enjoy an exciting, meaningful and life-changing summer in China.
Currently we offer three distinctive programmes:
1. English Teaching focused on improving Chinese school children’s conversational English as well as their engagement with the language. Ambassadors will receive a TEFL qualification after completion of the required number of hours stipulated for face-to-face teaching;
2. Cultural Exchange - some classroom teaching combined with a range of cultural workshops, blended learning activities and excursions;
3. Inspiring Futures - a progressive holistic education programme developed by our partner Future Foundations - to be delivered by our Ambassadors to Chinese children. The differentiating factor is the consideration given to the development of ‘emotional intelligence’ alongside our core objectives of cultural exchange and language progression.
