General information

Vocational training:

Every person needs a sense of purpose.We network with many agencies and aretherefore able to access a wide range of vocational training as well as help with life skills to obtain and retain a job.Training given is tailored to a boy s interests, talents and abilities. Each boy is given one to one support including therapy, mentoring and career guidance.

Careers advice:
Our service has helped over 500 teenagers to get jobs and advance their careers. Boys are assisted in producing their
own CVs and we provide guidance for job interviews and life in the
workplace.

Work experience:
Boys who are so called 'drop-outs' are often severely challenged by not having experience and therefore struggle to get on the first rung of the 'workplace-ladder'.We help young people to find appropriate work placements with the hopeful prospect of that resulting in full time jobs. Sheltered and emergency housing
Wherever appropriate we will help boys return to their parental home.However, when this
is not possible we place them in their own accommodation with
support to access benefits and finance.We keep close supervision on these individuals helping them to engage in education and work.

Individual Therapy
Vulnerable teenagers need regular support.We provide weekly therapy sessions with therapist/counsellors who are adept at working with this challenging client group. In so doing we provide boys at The Clubhouse with emotional support as well as assistance in overcoming their self-defeating behaviours.

Activity Based Counselling
We organise a range of activities to help our boys to relate in a healthy way to their peers. Examples include learning programs, football, ten-pin bowling and occasional trips away. Boys volunteer in old-age homes and soup kitchens which helps them make positive contributions in the lives of others.

Mentoring
Every young person has an adult mentor who provides personal support on issues such as lifestyle, basic health,welfare and family / community reintegration.We also make use of peer mentors.These are young adults who, with the support of the Boys Clubhouse, have successfully transitioned into constructive life and are now keen to help others.

Israel Program
Our Israel program offers our clients the opportunity to make a fresh start in a new environment. Our dedicated Israeli based team are able to guide and assist each boy to help find the program most appropriate to his individual needs from a wide range of choices, including yeshiva, army or vocational programs. In addition our staff continue to provide the counselling and mentoring services needed and act as a home from home.
