The Prophet (Sallallahu Alaihi Wa Sallam) said, "There is a tree among the trees which is similar to a Muslim (in goodness), and that is the Date Palm Tree." (Al-Bukhari)
Date Palm Primary is an Independent Muslim school in the heart of East London. The school is set to open in September 2012 in its own dedicated premises. Initial intake of students will be for Nursery, Reception and Year 1. Over the next few years we will add classes to become a fully fledged primary school accommodating from Nursery to Year 6, InshaAllah.
Date Palm Primary wishes to fill a gap in demand for Islamic schools. Currently there are a limited number of Islamic schools in the area which are unable to cater to the demands of the Muslim community.
The idea to start a new school came from parents who felt the need for a suitable school for their own children. They felt current provision was lacking or inadequate. Motivated by the need to establish an independent school which could meet their demands they decided to set up Date Palm Primary.
Besides being parents they have a diverse range of professional backgrounds including Scientific Research, Education, Media and Business.
