Pollocks Toy Museum Company Information
General information
Pollock's Toy Museum is located in the West End of London it contains a unique collection of antique toys.Including dolls, teddy bears, trains, cars, tin toys, puppets, toy theatres, dolls houses and much more.
The Pollock's Toy Museum was set up as a privately owned museum in the 1950’s by Marguerite Fawdry. The museum has always been owned by the Fawdry family.
A charitable trust was formed by Marguerite Fawdry in the 1960’s to oversee the running of the museum.
When Marguerite Fawdry died the trust took over the running of the museum, not the ownership.
In 2004 the chairman of the trust Alan Powers wrote to the Fawdry family saying the trust no longer wished to be involved with the running of Pollock’s Toy Museum as he wanted to set up his own toy museum. He also threatened to sue the Pollock’s Toy Museum over ownership of the items in the collection which he claimed belonged to him.
He also told us we could not call the museum Pollock's Toy Museum. Strange i know but true.
The items in the collection have however remained on display to the public at Pollock’s Toy Museum, 1 Scala Street, London.
