ABOUT US

We are a small family business focused on bringing good food to good people.

Our owners are a mother and daughter combo, determined to give the best service to their customers and sometimes found bickering in the background about which books to put out on the bookshelves.

Mama Silvana Ditcham was born in Acre, Brasil and has lived in Europe for over 30 years. Since her move to Paris in 1984 she had a dream to own and run her very own parisian cafe/brasserie. After many years working as an actress, singer and fashion model, she moved to London, carrying her dream with her. Two daughters and a granddaughter later, her dream has been realised.

Oona Béat, born in Paris, grew up with her mother's dream and has fought hard to bring it all together. With a long history of management and visual merchandising, she focuses on customer service and making an inviting and warm space.

Both mother and daughter have lived in Kensington Olympia for over 20 years and believe there was a serious lack of family-friendly cafes, where they could lounge on a big sofa and curl up with a good book.

The kitchen is run by Hermann Maagaard, Silvana's nephew. He started as a kitchen porter 12 years ago just down the road in Hammersmith and quickly moved to Denmark with his girlfriend at the time. He then studied as a Chef for 5 years and has worked in the best Hotels and Cafes in Horsens and Vejle. With his 10 years of experience, he has moved back to London to introduce his cuisine to the masses and makes one fantastic BLT!

The cafe is managed by Andrej Horvath, a trained carpenter who was involved in the Blue Corner project from the start. He designed all of our woodwork, including the floors, bookshelf and all of our decorations. A real jack-of-all-trades.
