Bull in a China Shop

Occupying a Dickensian fronted pub opposite the iconic Tea Building in Shoreditch is a new all-day restaurant and whisky bar with a subtle hint of the Orient, Bull in a China Shop.

A second project from brothers Stephen and Simon Chan, owners of The Drunken Monkey, neighbouring Chinese dim sum parlour and cocktail bar. The brothers will serve an enticing menu of Chinese spiced, whisky glazed rotisserie chicken, black charcoal brioche buns, superfood salads and a host of breakfast bao buns alongside sweet and savoury congee (rice porridge) for early risers.

Bull in a China Shop will offer breakfast, lunch and dinner, seven days a week, as well as house a cocktail bar serving over 30 choice Japanese and Scotch whiskies.

The design concept is very much Chinese ‘old curiosities’ with a hint of Tretchikoffs ‘Green Lady’ played out with a collection of medicine bottles and bone china ornaments to a backdrop of textured whitewashed walls.

Launching Bull in a China Shop is an exciting venture from the Chan brothers, using their wealth of experience and knowledge of the area and customer base to create something people really want, a stylish all day eaterie serving great quality, speedily prepared food and expertly made cocktails in a confident yet laid back environment.
