David Morris Company Information
General information
The legendary career of David Morris began in 1951 when, as a young man, he mastered the craft of diamond mounting by apprenticing a leading jeweller. After a stint at London’s Central School of Arts and Crafts, he qualified as a goldsmith in 1959. Establishing his own jewellery firm in 1962, David Morris became internationally known a year later as he and his design partner claimed the 9th and 10th De Beers Diamonds International Awards, bestowed annually in New York to promote innovative design.
In 1996, Jeremy Morris and his father moved David Morris from Conduit Street to its current 180 New Bond Street headquarters. Built as a townhouse of commerce by Scots architect William Flockhart in 1908, the flagship boutique's original French Dixhuitième facade of cast stone with tall pilasters remains intact, as does the hand-carved French panelling lining the walls. Warm hues of taupe and soft gold, as well as the sleek bespoke furnishings conceived by London interior designer David Collins, reflect the modern glamour and refined craftsmanship of David Morris fine jewellery.
Jeremy Morris was appointed managing director and principal designer of David Morris in 2003. David Morris's flagship store on New Bond Street, in the heart of London's Mayfair, is unique in that it still houses a workshop above the store, where Jeremy can personally oversee the production of each piece.
