Association Of Royal Navy Officers Company Information

General information

The Association was formed in 1920 with the principal objective of recovering retired pay that was withheld from naval officers who had been recalled to service in the 1914-1918 War.

The Association was re-constituted in 1925 by Vice Admiral FW Caulfeild CBE (see main picture) and has evolved over the years to meet the changing needs of the members. Today ARNO has well over 5,500 members at home and abroad on both the Active and Retired Lists.

The objectives today.

Provide a means for officers to keep in contact and mutually support each other.

Offer members a range of activities, benefits and services which result in savings which comfortably outstrip the cost of annual subscription.

Help and advise members, their wives, widows and dependants who are in need or distress of any kind.

The Association is administered by a Council which comprises serving and retired officers from all arms of the Royal Naval service.
