Youth United Foundation Company Information
General information
In 2009 His Royal Highness The Prince of Wales brought together the heads of uniformed youth organisations to discuss a new way of collaborative working. From that initiative, the Youth United Network was established, and continues with the support of our Patron today. The Youth United Network of voluntary youth organisations works together to increase access to the opportunities we offer young people, particularly in disadvantaged areas.
In 2012, the Youth United Network established a charity, the Youth United Foundation, to help achieve the vision of ensuring that every young person who wants to join a uniformed organisation is able to do so. The Youth United Network is: Air Cadets, Army Cadet Force, The Boys' Brigade, Fire Cadets, The Girls' Brigade England & Wales, Girlguiding; Jewish Lads' and Girls' Brigade, The Scout Association, Sea Cadets, St John Ambulance and Volunteer Police Cadets. Our organisations give young people a sense of belonging, raise their self-esteem, help develop skills that make them more employable and enable them to contribute to the communities in which they live. Together with the Network we are working to increase the number of adult volunteers supporting member organisations, increase the number of young people engaged in their communities and attract funding and make better use of resources.
