Afghanaid is an international humanitarian and development NGO with a Board of Trustees in the UK and a Head Office in Kabul. The organisation was originally established in 1983 to provide humanitarian assistance to refugees and displaced communities in Afghanistan. We currently work directly with more than 1.1 million adults and children focusing on both long-term sustainable development and provision of humanitarian assistance to those in need in over 3,500 villages across 24 districts in some of Afghanistan's poorest rural provinces of Ghor, Badakhshan, Nuristan and Samangan. Afghanaid employs nearly 400 women and men, 98 percent of whom are Afghans.
