"Patients often ask doctors this important question when they need a specialist's opinion. It’s because doctors are trusted and have many years of clinical experience that help us identify which specialists are best suited to which clinical problems and patients.

As a GP trainee at the James Wigg Practice in London, I often asked colleagues for their recommendations and found colleagues asking other GPs too. It seemed highly inefficient. So, together with my GP trainer, an IT-savvy brother, some very good friends and advice from the GMC, we built a system to centralise these recommendations - and made it free to use for GP practices and patients.

What started as a GP-trainee project continued to grow and is now the largest online clinical
recommendations resource in the UK. The recommendations shared by GPs and specialists have helped 1000s of patients and saved 100s of hours of clinical time. With your help we hope to grow the resource further.

The team is passionate about using technology to build bridges between primary and secondary care, promote health education and support online clinical communities (such as ‘Tiko’s GP Group’).

Furthermore, for every recommendation shared by a GP or specialist, a donation is made to the Royal Medical Benevolent Fund, www.rmbf,org, a fantastic charity supporting medical students and doctors in difficulty.
