General information

We work to preserve and protect the health and well-being of young people by delivering innovative, replicable and cost-effective programmes in local communities.

Our Youth Violence Intervention Programme (YVIP) embeds specialist youth workers in London's four Major Trauma Centres, where they work with young victims of violence and exploitation. The team encourage and support young people to make positive plans and healthy choices in order to disrupt the cruel cycle of violence that can too easily lead to re-injury, re-attendance and devastated communities.

The Well Centre in Streatham is a youth health hub. In partnership with Herne Hill Group Practice the Well Centre provides young people ages 13-20 with drop-in access to youth workers, CAMHS counsellors, and Redthread's team of specialist youth workers.

We also run an education programme, where Redthread youth workers visit London schools promoting the importance of PSHE lessons. The Diabetes Transition Team supports young people with type 1 diabetes with the management of their serious health condition. To read more about any of our projects, please visit www.redthread.org.uk
