General information

Briefcase Law is an advice, assistance and advocacy service for Small Claims (claims up to £10,000). We help both Claimants and Defendants.

We are a small group of lawyers, who have undertaken post graduate training in dispute resolution, court procedures and advocacy, who want to see a more accessible way for people to resolve their disputes.

We don’t mean to criticise barristers or solicitors (not least of which because several of them are close friends and partners!), but we do believe that they are an expensive ‘hammer’ with which to crack your Small Claim ‘nut’. We are able to provide a targeted, one to one service, aimed at taking much of the stress out of running or defending Small Claims for a much lower price than other legal professionals.

We believe that a more basic, ‘no frills’ approach is needed. Technically, you have conduct of your own case but with us advising and assisting you all the way, and representing you in court if it comes to it. We can’t issue proceedings in your name, but don’t worry – we will help you complete all the forms and draft correspondence, witness statements and any other applications needed along the way.
