General information

JW Restoration specialises in the restoration and conservation of Victorian Encaustic tiled floors and marble mosaics. The company understands the responsibility and duty of care that we all have in preserving our heritage and takes particular pride in the work that they do towards its conservation.

All restoration work is carried out sympathetically using traditional techniques. We have access to a wide selection of marble to ensure a suitable replacement is reinstated.

We offer a service that incorporates full design consultation through to total hand manufacture and installation.

The use of modern computer design programs allows us to replicate lost original elements or to create contemporary new designs to suit a client's requirements. Our mosaics are all made by hand and each tesserae is individually cut by us in our workshop. This ensures we achieve the precise and unique feel that a mosaic should have.

Our mosaics are manufactured off site to minimise disruption to the client.

Our projects include long-running restoration contracts at both the Natural History Museum and the Victoria and Albert Museum, as well as many other prestigious clients.
