Lesnes Abbey is a 88 hectare park with ruins of a 12th century abbey and 70 hectares of woodland.
The site has recently been enhanced using Heritage Lottery Funding, and this page promotes the new opportunities and activities afforded by this funding.
There is a new 'Lesnes Lodge' which features two new classrooms/activity rooms, public toilets and there will be a refreshment kiosk also, once an appropriate concessionaire has been appointed.
There will be two full time members of staff onsite, running events, managing the woodland and developing a new educational program.
All revenue generated by events and activities will feedback into the site to establish it's long term sustainability as a community asset for the area.
