The business was established over 90 years ago, and traded as "Fordhams" in Hertford, Hoddesdon and Puckeridge. By 1986 the Puckeridge store had ceased to trade, and after the retirement of Douglas Fordham the Hoddesdon branch closed as well. Keith Marshall, (founder W.S.Fordham's great-great-grandson) and his wife Sue continue to trade from the same Grade 2 listed building in Fore Street in Hertford, striving to offer the same levels of friendly personal service which have been the hallmark of the business since 1921.
