“Great skin is worth the investment in time and money. After all, it’s worth looking after, it has to last you a long time!” says Nikki Ryan, the clinical director of the Skin Remedy Clinic, a new, specialist skin treatment clinic based in Grosvenor Road, Wrexham.
“Advances in skin treatments have made treatments affordable and accessible. It’s so much easier to get younger looking, glowing skin without breaking the bank—and without having to resort to invasive and expensive surgical procedures,” says Nikki.
The Skin Remedy Clinic offers skin peels and needling alongside clinical facial treatments and specialist skincare products that aim to enhance and improve the skin and its tailor-made skincare programmes are designed to help clients achieve their skincare goals—whether it’s to ease problems such as rosacea or pigmentation, or simply to achieve a healthy, glowing complexion.
Nikki brings a wealth of medical knowledge to the world of skincare. She is a Registered Nurse and has spent over two decades in A&E nursing in Manchester and Yorkshire. She grew up on the outskirts of Wrexham and trained at the Maelor Hospital so has deep connections in Wrexham, which makes the decision to base the Skin Remedy Clinic in the town centre even more important to her.
The Clinic opened in October and the décor has been designed to reflect the history of No 1 Grosvenor Road. Facilities include a private consultation room where a client’s skin is assessed and, if required, scanned to examine any damage or condition that might not otherwise be visible. Treatments can be one-off treats for those special occasions, or longer-term where a programme is worked out with the client to help them achieve their skincare goals.
“The most effective skincare treatments are not a quick fix solution. We focus on long-term results and on giving every client the best treatment every time so they will want to make a visit a regular part of their life,” says Nikki.
The impressive range of treatments, which are constantly expanding, include the award-winning HydraFacial skin rejuvenation treatment. This will be the highlight of a Red Carpet Event on December 8th where clients can try this treatment for a special, introductory price. The event is also an opportunity to meet Nikki and some of the HydraFacial staff, to have a look around the clinic and also enjoy a complimentary glass or two of wine.
When it comes to skin care product ranges, Nikki has chosen advanced cosmeceutical brands - Dermaquest, SkinMed and iS Clinical, each one carefully selected for optimum results. “Using several ranges allows us to find the best combination for every client and can comfortably be mixed around at home for better results or simply due to a change of season or skin condition,” she says.
Her clinical background and experience means that the Clinic does not focus only on aesthetic treatments. Skin Remedy Clinic is also a specialist clinic for conditions such as Acne and Rosacea that can make a sufferer’s life a misery. The Skin Remedy Clinic is a registered SkinMed centre of expertise for these conditions. Nikki also offers two other specialty treatments: Camouflage Make Up application to temporarily cover birth marks, tattoos and scars and beauty treatments for clients living with our beyond cancer, using Jennifer Young products.
“It’s important to me that we offer remedies and solutions that help people feel better about themselves,” Nikki says. “I’ve seen through my family and friends how helping someone solve a long-standing skin complaint really can transform their lives.”
Offering highly effective and safe treatments is a number one priority. Nikki thoroughly researches the treatments to ensure that client safety and comfort and the team participate in regular checks and training to highlight all safety aspects of the treatments.
As an introductory offer, the Clinic is offering a complimentary treatment to clients who buy a course of treatments. A loyalty programme is also available which rewards clients with points they can redeem towards services or products.
The clinic is open Monday to Saturday with out-of-hours appointments available on request. The clinic is conveniently located just walking distance from the town centre and has parking facilities in the courtyard behind the main building.
