IAPS (Independent Association Of Prep Schools)

General information

The Independent Association of Prep Schools is a professional association for heads of independent schools, catering for children aged from two to sixteen.

The majority of our schools have children in the traditional prep age ranges of five to eleven or five to thirteen, but some also have nurseries and/or senior departments. Some heads of Pre-Prep Schools, which take children up to aged seven only, are also in membership.

Primarily a heads’ association, there are also a small number of deputy heads in membership but no new applications are accepted. In all, IAPS has over six-hundred members of which around thirty are based overseas.

IAPS is committed to excellence in education and seeks to promote the highest professional standards in prep school education. The quality of both members and schools is monitored to ensure that they meet our membership requirements.
