Thomas Oken Company Information
General information
Set in the small, historic town of Warwick and situated next to the famous castle, this beautiful old building was built over 500 years ago for its namesake, a wealthy & philanthropic merchant.
Thomas Oken died on 29th July 1573 and left the house in trust to aid the poor & to fund education & housing in Warwick.
Today, this delightful Tudor building is a traditional English tearoom. On the ground floor there are 2 cosy seating areas and a shop selling gifts, teas and fine bone china, some of which are made in Warwick. Upstairs is an elegant drawing room style space with comfortable armchairs and coffee tables, which can also be hired for private functions. Seating is also made available outside, when weather permits. We serve over thirty different loose leaf teas, ethically sourced from all around the world, as well as aromatic fresh coffees. Our extensive menu offers hot and cold savouries, such as traditional favourites - like Welsh Rarebit and Lamb Hotpot - as well as sweet treats including our Warwick Cream Tea, Oken Afternoon Tea and a range of delicious home-baked cakes. All are served on fine bone china in a traditional setting, and where possible, produce is sourced locally or is homemade.
