General information

The Chinese Centre (North of England) is a registered charity (reg. no. 1093920) and its mission is to promote social inclusion, equality and diversity. The Chinese ICT Open Learning Centre was founded by the Chinese Centre and was officially opened on 2nd February 2003. The centre was supported by the New Opportunities fund, the European Social Fund, the Department of Education and Skills and Newcastle City Council and is currently funded by the University for Industry for delivering Learndirect, UKonline and Train to Gain.

Our mission is to encourage social inclusion, equality and diversity. Breaking through language and social barriers by means of new technology and helping learners regain confidence in learning is one of the aims of our current education & training service. A wide range of courses from basic level to advanced offer learners the opportunities to take their first step back into learning or to progress to higher education or employment opportunities. CICT is an equal opportunities provider. We endeavour to provide quality education in a welcoming, supportive community environment to facilitate successful learning.
