Thornberry Animal Sanctuary

General information

Thornberry Animal Sanctuary opened in 1988. For all these years we have given hope to thousands of abandoned or mistreated animals who have come through our gates.

Our aim is to rehome as many animals as possible into secure, loving homes for the remainder of their lives and care for those that have to remain with us.

We have room for 28 dogs, 30+ cats, 40+ rabbits and small animals, and 20+ horses and, due to our “no kill” policy, unless the quality of life of a Thornberry animal deteriorates, it says in the Sanctuary for life.

It’s thanks to the kindness of our supporters that we are able to do all this as we rely entirely on donations from members of the public, legacies and businesses for our continued survival.

We also carry out our own fundraising through events and on-site shops.

Any and all donations are very gratefully received, whether they be financial, through volunteering, items we can sell or raffle or sponsorship.
