Essential Mediation is a specialist practice that provides independent, impartial and confidential mediation and disagreement resolution services to assist parties to resolve disputes in the following areas:

* Parents, young people, schools & post 16 providers
* Employers and employees
* Housing associations and tenants

Mediation is an effective way to resolve disputes without the need to go to a court or a tribunal hearing. It involves an independent third party, a mediator, to support both sides to work actively together to find a resolution. Essential Mediation provides a range of services including individual mediation sessions on request and also through specialist mediation packages.

At a time of increasing legal challenges, it is important for all sides in a dispute to consider the benefits of mediation and to seek a cost effective resolution. Mediation discourages confrontation and promotes cooperation by focusing on the shared nature of the problem, rather than the entrenched positions into which parties may have settled.
