Tread The Boards teaches skills in Drama, Singing and Dance which will provide a foundation for any children wishing to pursue a career in the performing arts but at the same time aims to be an enjoyable extra-curricular activity, focusing on building friendship and fun.
Our primary aim is to boost the confidence of every child in our classes. There are no auditions and no experience is required – just lots of enthusiasm! We are an independent school, so our curriculum is based on the interests and abilities of the children we have in our classes and tailored to their needs.

Senior School at The Poppleton Centre

Time: Every Wednesday (term time)
Main school: 4.30 pm - 6.30 pm

Age: 6 - 16 years

Senior school At Clifton Moor Community Centre

Three separate age groups take three 40 minute sessions in Drama, Music and Dance.
Children may stay for an optional Master Class in the third hour, which is devoted to a different musical each term, leading to a performance.

Time: Every Saturday (term time)
Main school: 10.15am - 12.15pm
Master Class: 12.15pm - 1.15pm

Age: 6 - 16 years

IDTA Freestyle Dance qualifications available at both schools.

Holiday Workshops

We run very popular workshops in the Summer holidays, producing a show in a week which incorporates Dance, Drama and Singing taught by specialist tutors. Past productions include A Midsummer Night's Dream, As You Like It, Macbeth and The Tempest,
