General information

The NFU is the voice of British farming representing farmers and growers across England and Wales. We lobby nationally and in Europe on behalf of our members to ensure their voice is heard. And we campaign for people to support our farmers.

We’re asking the public to Back British Farming by seeking out British produce and enjoying the fruits of their labours. By doing so, you’ll be playing an important part in helping our farmers and growers to deliver even more now and to our future generations.

Community guidelines

All users and members are welcome and encouraged to discuss posts on the NFUonline Facebook page.

So that the page is a safe and inclusive platform for discussion, comments may be hidden. This is not done to censor your views but to ensure that comments relate to the particular subject being discussed. Moderation will never be used to suppress legitimate, reasoned discussion.

If you want to tell us something away from the public glare of Facebook, drop us a private message. We'll always try and respond as soon as we can.

There are some dos and don’ts, please follow these guidelines for posting a comment on the NFUonline Facebook page

Do

Be polite – people won’t reply if you’re rude

Be clear and relevant – otherwise nobody will know what you mean

Reply to other comments – and get involved in the discussion

Write in English and proof read your comment – so that everyone can understand

Keep your comments short - nobody likes it when someone hogs the conversation in real life, so why do it on Facebook?

Return to the page to see what other people have to say plus we post new things all the time

Join in, comment, like and share. We appreciate it when our Facebook fans talk to us and spread the word about British farming.

Don’t

Be offensive – you’ll upset people and we simply won't stand for any abusive behaviour or trolling

Swear – your comments will automatically be hidden

Be racist – we have a zero tolerance policy on racism

Break the law – illegal activity will be reported to the police

Reveal personal information – Be cautious over how much of your information, and other people’s information, you make available to the public on Facebook

Pretend to be someone else

Post spam – we will just delete it

If you don’t stick to the guidelines we may block you or report you to Facebook.
Please note Facebook is only monitored between 9-5pm Monday- Friday.
