Bistro Le Coq was established in 2003 when partners Liz Tennant John Rushbrooke and French Chef Bertrand Le Clercq decided to acquire the business formally known as The Cock Inn and create a typical French bistro that they described as ‘A little taste of France in a country Inn’ Simple French style décor and rustic charm are the main features of the restaurant and the food is traditional bistro fare with its roots in the regional specialities of France. Bistro is real food for real people prepared by passionate cooks not celebrity Chefs. Steak frites Confit de Canard Boeuf Bourguignon Moules Croque Monsieur Creme Brulee are just a few of the great tasting dishes designed to provide an authentic delicious French bistro meal. We use the best ingredients available sourcing as much of our food locally as possible although for the sake of authenticity some of our ingredients are sourced from France.
