Homelessness is a reality for some in Mid Devon, and it’s not just those who sleep rough (about 7 people at any one tiime).
Since we began in 1995, CHAT's vision has always been to prevent homelessness by helping those who don't qualify for statutory help, but who still need support to gain and maintain tenancies.
We do this through deposit guarantees, and free, impartial advice and support. We can provide sleeping bags and tents as a temporary measure, and we also run an Emergency Food Store.
We help people setting up home by providing second-hand bedding, furniture, crockery and utensils.
