General information

Our traditional wooden horsebox has been renovated into a beautiful, modern living space for two people and camping space for 2 adults or children. This gives an the opportunity to stay on our fully organic, working smallholding.
The horsebox is situated in a small wooded area with its own private garden space and exclusive facilities.
The small holding is located in a beautiful area of Cornish countryside, on the edge of a wooded valley, 2 miles from the North Cornwall coast, 10 miles from the South Cornwall coast.
There is a short walk to a small wildlife reserve called The Hayman Reserve and the area is laced with a network of footpaths, bridlepaths and old trackways.

Perranporth and St Agnes are just a couple of miles away and offer wonderful beaches, good surfing, historic sites and coastal walking.

The Miners Arms in Mithian is only 10 minutes walk away and serves good food and Cornish real ale. www.miners-arms.co.uk

The horsebox is situated in a small wooded area which we planted when we came here in 1993.
The picture to the left is the view from the sofa looking out into the garden when the main door is lowered. The door can be raised and lowered as you like to give full access to outdoors.

There is a snug seating area in front of a wood burning stove and enough wood to keep the fire going if the evenings get cooler.

In the horsebox there is a small fitted kitchen with a gas cooker and oven. In the cupboards there are most pots, pans and utensils you will need.

You will receive a complimentary box of organic vegetables, fruit and eggs on arrival.

The sleeping area comprises of a double bed in the 'luton' area, above the cab of the lorry itself. The cupboards are of a sturdy construction and provide the steps up. Bed linen and towels are provided although you are welcome to bring your own if you prefer.

The view to the right is taken from the bedroom area.
It's quite possible to lie in bed and hear the birds singing in the trees outside and the breeze rustling the leaves! You will hear a Skylark singing over the hay meadow in the spring.
We have a number of bird nest boxes placed in the woods around so it can be busy in the spring time. There are also some bird feeders in the garden so it's possible to see a wide selection of birds coming to feed.

A short distance away (25 metres) from the horsebox are your own private facilities consisting of a composting loo and shower room.

There is a lovely view across the hay meadow to the horizon and it's a lovely place to watch the sunrise...if you're up and about early! The shower and washing facilities have
instantaneous hot running water with a large sink to wash-up in, a small fridge and a place to store coats and boots etc. Lighting is powered by photovoltaic solar panels. There are also lanterns and tealights. We are planning to construct a solar outdoor shower soon.

There is no smoking in the horsebox.
