Orkney Star Island Soap Company Information
General information
My cold-processed handmade soaps are produced from my home which overlooks the magnificent Mill Bay in Stronsay - one of the northern isles of Orkney. I also hand-spin local fleece including the rare North Ronaldsay seaweed-eating breed, native to these islands. I dye, felt, knit, weave the yarns into wallhangings, bags, rugs. The Vikings called this island "Stronsay" which has been interpreted as meaning star island - hence the name I chose for my business.
