General information

Uckfield Town Council is made up of fifteen Councillors who are elected every four years. The Town Mayor and Deputy Town Mayor are elected by the Councillors every year.
The Council has three main committees - General Purposes, Plans and Environment and Leisure, two sub-committees - Personnel and Finance, and a number of working groups including the Urgent Consultation Panel and Editorial Panel. The Full Council and main committees meet approximately every eight weeks. The Plans committee meets every three weeks in order to make observations to Wealden District Council, which is the planning authority.
All Council meetings are held in the Council Chamber, on the first floor of the Civic Centre and are open to the public. Agendas are available to the public prior to the meetings, on notice boards throughout the Town and on the Council’s website. At these meetings members of the public are allowed to address Councillors at the discretion of the Chairman of each meeting.
The Town Council has its offices on the first floor of the Civic Centre, and is open to the public Monday - Thursday 9.00am to 5.00pm and Friday 9.00am to 4.00pm. The Council Offices are the first point of contact for all Council services - telephone 01825 762774.
