General information

D-light design, is an independent Lighting Design company based on the outskirts of Swindon, Wiltshire. The company was set up in 2003 by myself, the Principle Lighting Designer. I was originally trained in Architecture but discovered my passion for lighting about 15 years ago & decided to specialise in Lighting Design.

In the past, I had worked for various, major commercial Lighting Manufacturers and Lighting Design Specialists, but decided to start my own design company so that I could have complete freedom to specify any light fitting, from a whole range of different products.

As a Lighting Designer, you must remain impartial. It is very important for the Client that a Designer has no particular allegiance to any Lighting Manufacturer or Wholesaler, so that the specified products are chosen on merit & suitability for the individual project & not for any other reason.

I believe that Lighting is one of the most important aspects of architecture, interior design and landscaping. We offer services for interior and exterior lighting, working in the Commercial and Domestic Lighting markets. We produce schemes that are both innovative & exciting while still maintaining energy efficiency & within set budget restraints.

Most of our experience is in the design of lighting schemes for large, fully automated, individual properties but we recognise that good lighting design, with its attention to detail, is only effective if installed correctly. We therefore feel it is important to offer the Client a full electrical installation package, via our sister company Electrical Technolo-G Ltd.

This is a huge benefit to the Client, It ensures harmony between the designer & installer to produce quality workmanship, smooth progress on site & ultimately, stunning lighting results. An example where this professional partnership worked perfectly was in a recently completed property, which went onto win the West of England LABC Building Excellence Awards for the “Best Individual Dwelling”.
