Priory Court Care Home is on the Priory Road in the historic town of Stamford and voted one of the best places to live in the UK. Stamford was one of the first conservation areas in England and Wales and the Home is sympathetically built to fit in with the gorgeous local architecture, overlooking the historic ruins of St Leonard’s Priory. The Home is set in a quiet residential area; just five minutes walk from the town centre and the thriving community and services of the charming cobbled streets. Just one minute’s drive from the A1, the Home has train and bus links to the city of Peterborough. It is one of finest care homes in Lincolnshire, founded on our principles of compassion and quality of care.

In the 15 years since it opened Priory Court Care Home in Lincolnshire has established strong ties with local schools. Residents are regular visitors to the schools’ plays, concerts and open days. Priory Court has an especially warm relationship with the Malcolm Sargent Primary School, where residents are always sure of a friendly welcome on their visits to the school. The volunteer bereavement group, Cruse, uses the Home for its regular monthly meetings, attended by professionals and visitors from the town of Stamford. Residents are invited to take part in these meetings, along with a monthly resident association gathering, which is when they decide not only which excursions they wish to go on, but also other activities and charities they will support.

The Home has its own minibus, taking residents out on daily jaunts or to specific events and activities. There is an open door policy at the Home so volunteers and relatives are always welcome, keeping residents up to date with local news and events from the close-knit community.

•Monthly services at one of the other 11 churches in Stamford

Our Care Home has its own minibus which regularly takes residents on trips to places of interest all year round, and our full-time Activities Coordinators are always finding new and stimulating places to visit to enrich our residents’ lives. This part of Lincolnshire boasts some of the best scenery in England and all residents are encouraged to get their guidebooks out and choose their favourite destination, something filmmakers have been doing in the area for some time.

•Visits to the gardens and sculptures at nearby Burghley Park
•Lunch trips to local garden centres

The Home has genteel elegance, fitting to the local history, but is matched with modern style senior living. All light and airy bedrooms are en-suite and many open onto the delightful gardens, and our suites are ideal for couples. All the common areas are attractively furnished with comfy chairs and sofas, while the reception area has a cosy inglenook fireplace. For those who enjoy music, the Home also boasts a full sized grand piano for musically minded residents who like to tinkle the ivories. Priory Court is a warm and homely place with its own special welcome.

Priory Court has three resident chefs who have been at the Home for several years, whom all ensure our guests receive the very best nutritionally balanced meals, taking into account their health considerations and dietary needs. Staff are ever mindful that meal times are equally important social events, as well as being nutritionally important, so knowing that not everyone wants to eat at set times there are delicious home baked cakes and fresh pastries available throughout the day, along with plates of fresh fruit, juices and drinks. There are three dining rooms, so residents can also enjoy private dining with friends and family.
